Hannah Montana is not just for 10-year-old girls anymore; she has a huge fan in one particular three-year-old boy, at least.

LG especially likes singing along with the show’s theme song. Or at least the lines he’s caught on to and stuck together. Tonight he was singing it to me while I was shucking corn for dinner:

You got best a’ both worlds
Rock ow’ the show…

Too funny! I know I will wind up looking up the full lyrics for him…

How to alienate your prospective Web designer, #2

I had put in a bid on adding a single Web page to a site that seemed reasonably worthwhile to me — a documentary that touched on the subject of interfaith marriage, disapproving Holocaust survivor grandmothers, etc. I then received notification from the original poster that they’d modified the project, and they would like me to bid on the revised project.

So I looked up what their new requirements were, and even that was a PITA. Among other things, the new scope of work called for editing three scripts. Two were Perl scripts, which is not a problem for me…and then I couldn’t tell about the final script, because I couldn’t find the form that used it.

After each message I received requesting I revise my bid, I failed to respond, and thought that would be that. Well, after the third notice, it felt like hey, they must really want me for this!

So I wrote back with an estimate, and noted how I couldn’t find the third script. I received the following response, which read in entirety:

Huh? It’s one click right on the homepage and then one other on the map page?

Charming…!

After being told one too many times what time is it, and that the clock says it’s time for bed…

LG: I don’t like clocks anymore. I don’t want clocks in my house.

Little Guy is trying to stop me from turning off the TV because “Diego” is about to start. LG is happy to enlighten me about the show:

LG: Diego saves animals. He saves birds or horses or lions or giraffes or tigers. Anything he wants to save!

[The cartoon starts and we hear Diego start talking about jaguars...]

LG: Jaguars…

What a rainy New Year’s Day! I was out way too early to go to the Upper East Side to hold a tutoring session… then took LG to Funtopia for, well, fun of course.

While LG recognizes who Santa is, we’ve never explicitly explained the concept to him. I wanted to suss out exactly who or what he thought Santa was. I asked LG, “What does Spiderman do?” He answered, “Spin a web.” I then asked him, “What does Santa do?” He answered, “Is chocolate!”

Chunky borders

I really needed something like this today and was thrilled to find it without too much agita: Chunky borders with curved corners. It is CSS markup for rounded corners with no images. I’m a new and huge fan…
